|
Summary |
I am a versatile and fearless leader with a proven capacity to grasp new technologies and formulate IT-architectures supporting forward looking business scenarios.
For the last 21 month engaged within Best Buy Marketing IT as Technical Program Manager, leading the efforts of creating 5 new capabilities: Customer Account, Customer SSO & Identity Management, Secure Internet accessible SOA, Action/Recommendation API and Social Identity Federation API. Participated in the inception and architecture of the Commerce API, Tag Superhighway and the BBY App Engine (middle-ware for mobile devices). Also created the majority of the first Best Buy iPhone application that today has over 1M downloads.
In creating the start-up company Wine Track, as CTO I personally took control of the business needs and the unique technology opportunities. In a year I planned, researched and implemented a new business model based on RFID emerging technologies. I implemented an 18-month IT plan by submitting 5 patents and establishing an agile development environment and hired and coached a highly dedicated development team. To support the strategic targets I negotiated a Technology Adoption Program (TAP) with Microsoft and created liaisons with RFID and hardware vendors. Key factors to success were my broad vision for business opportunity, understanding of technology and coaching skills.
In developing and deploying a $1.2B CRM system at Best Buy I worked directly with business customers to create a vision of their improved process and the required tool set. This meant explaining technology possibilities to senior managers and bridging the gap between business and IT. I proactively handled business managers’ expectations and coached a dual shore development team to beat deadlines and deliver on budget. A key factor was my skill in developing and coaching team members towards collaboration and the elimination of defects using agile methods.
